Ashley Brown is a fine artist who specializes in charcoal portraits and illustrations. Her work beautifully captures the essence of each subject with stunning textures and detail.
Long before an interior design degree, a career, or starting a family, art became my first passion. High school is where I found the joy in drawing and being creative, signing up for as many art classes as I could, and usually ending the day covered in paint, charcoal or clay. That was where I first learned how to use charcoal and discovered the way it allowed me to show stark contrast between light and shadow, and defined, sharp details.
Even then, I was always more interested in drawing my friends and family than anything else. We all surround ourselves with images of our loved ones; whether it's in a frame on the mantle, attached to the fridge with a magnet, or shared on social media. Having an artistic version of those images makes them even more special.
Today, I am proud to have a beautiful collection of commissioned artwork. Over the years, I have created a number of pieces that include portraits of children and pets, memorials of loved ones, and illustrations of homes. It is my goal to not only create accurate representations of the subject, but to capture the unique essence of their character. I am overjoyed when customers share that I have accomplished just that.
